Super Staff week! Find and share Padova's Street Art

While Padua is most famous for its historical figures, academic history and, botanical garden, the more modern expressions of identity and culture are lesser known. We aim to challenge your thoughts about Padua and showcase the city's liberal and artistic side.

Inspired by the Super Walls Biennale from 2019, 2021, 2023 and the incoming 2025 edition, we invite you to explore our wonderful city through its street art and murals.

As shown here, the University of Padua was happy to be a part of the event in 2021!

If interested you can read an article here which speaks about 3 of the most prolific and famous artists in Padua. You can also visit their personal pages below

The goal of the activity is to spend some time with your group outside of the sessions exploring the city! Try to look in laneways, and hidden streets because you might find something special ⭐

Divided into four teams, the goal is for your team to upload the most photos to win a special and iconic gift of Padua. Participants in the Staff Week will find their assigned team on their nametag and in the shared file. If you do not have a group assigned to your nametag but you want to participate there are extra tags available.

Each group has a folder to upload their photos. Please rename your photo uploads in the folder to [your first name]-[the street name]. i.e. Eilish-viazabarella.

To give you a headstart a collaborative Google Folder has been created so that you may upload your location and photos. You can edit and upload both on your mobile device and a computer. If you do not feel comfortable with the upload yourself, ask one of your group members or it will be uploaded before the prize ceremony on Wednesday by one our the Internal Relations Division staff

Welcome!

Welcome to Staff Week 2024 in Padua!

For this training week the theme is...

"Global Perspectives and Strategies in Higher Education Partnerships"

Partnerships are pivotal drivers of innovation, internationalization, and academic excellence in higher education. They facilitate research collaborations, promote cross-cultural exchange, and enrich the educational experience for students and faculty alike. However, capitalizing on partnerships to maximize their impact requires careful consideration and strategic planning.

This International Staff Training Week aims to equip participants with best practices and strategies to not only identify promising partnership opportunities but also to cultivate, monitor and sustain them effectively. Through the contribution of international speakers and presentation of case studies from across the globe, the event will look at ways of leveraging on mutual institutional strengths, and aligning partnership goals with broader academic and institutional objectives.

The event wants to bring together International Officers, academic and professional staff engaged with or interested in developing strategic partnerships, and share best practices from across the globe.

As we move through the week engaging, discussing and learning from one another we invite you to reflect on your experiences by responding to these posts at your leisure

Getting to, and around Padova

We're anxiously awaiting your arrival! However, we know it can be difficult to navigate in a new city with so much happening, so we have created a short guide on how to arrive in Padua as smoothly as possible

Arriving by Plane

From Aeroporto di Venezia Marco Polo
  • Taking the Bus line located outside the arrivals gate past the taxis please see here for detailed instructions, costs and directions.
  • Please avoid ATVO busses if you can as they do not provide a direct route to Padua and are also more expensive. However, if required, take the bus to Venezia Mestre and then take a train to Padova
  • For Taxis please head to the taxi waiting area outside the arrivals hall before the bus stops
  • Car rental is available with prior booking, however, not necessary once in Padua

From Aeroporto di Treviso Antonio Canova
  • For taking the Bus to Padua: MOM busline 101 on via Noalese at the stop Aeroporto Canova
  • Buy a physical ticket at the counter of the arrivals hall, then proceed to exit the airport and walk directly across the road for the bus stop.
  • Cost of the Ticket is 5,80€ in the MOM app, however, there is a small fee for a physical ticket at the airport ticket desk
  • Bus timetable is available here
  • An alternate route is available by taking the MOM Treviso Airlink on via Noalese at the stop Treviso Aeroporto, and proceeding to the stop De Gasperi at the train station.
  • You will need to buy a different ticket for this bus
  • From this point on, you can take a train to Padua using a physical ticket or the Trenitalia app (apple / android)
  • For Taxis please head to the taxi waiting area outside the arrivals hall before the bus stops
  • Car rental is available with prior booking, however, not necessary once in Padua

Arriving by Train
  • Depending on your accommodation location there are two exits from Stazione FS di Padova. Exit 1 in the direction of Piazzale della Stazione takes you towards the heart of the city. Exit 2 takes you towards Arcella.
  • In most cases you will be heading for Exit 1 in the direction of platform 1
  • To the right of the Station there is the Tram stop which you can pay for with a contactless debit/credit card in the middle of the tram.
  • Otherwise, there is a ticket machine at this tram stop (not all stops have a ticket machine). Please validate your ticket
  • Directly in front of the station is the bus stop. Multiple bus lines travel all throughout Padua.
  • Please consult the Busitalia app, as Google Maps is not accurate.

Arriving by Bus

Using Local Tram and Bus services
  • Tickets are available in the Busitalia app (apple / google play). You are also able to contactless "Tap" pay with a credit/debit card. Tickets for tram and bus services in the Padova Urbano 1 zone are interchangeable.
